Summary: Great Electric Lawn Mower
This mower does a nice job of mulching the grass as it cuts it. This mower is capable of mulching, rear bagging and side discharge, with an optional discharge chute (not currently available from Amazon). The chute works well also, attaching to the rear bag discharge and sending the grass out to the left. Put the mulch plate in and it mulches...most grass cuttings just disappear. If you like to bag (I haven't in more than 20 years) the rear bag keeps the mower balanced and allows access to narrower spots.
Keeping the cord out of the way of the blade is a matter of habit. Please make sure you plug into a GFCI outlet! While I prefer the flip handle of the MM675, the MM875 has a 19" blade which helps on the slightly bigger yard I use it on.
I am not tall, but I have the handle adjusted to the highest setting, so it might not be a comfortable fit for those on the tall side.
Cutting height is easily adjusted with one button ( make sure that it is clicked into a height setting, or it will change on you later).
The blade is 19" so the cutting width is almost as wide as a gasoline mower... but electric provides you with almost no maintenance, immediate startup, easy restart, no filling the tank, changeing oil, checking oil, draing gas in the winter, changing the air filter, etc. Gasoline mowers create a lot more pollution and greenhouse gases than electric mowers do (and the electric polution is at the powerplant, not in your yard.)
The mower is easy to assemble right out of the box, you only have to attach the handle pieces to the mower using the provided bolts. These bolts allow the handle to fold, increasing storage options.
I recommend this mower to anyone who has an electric outlet within 100' of any part of their yard. You will need a heavy duty outdoor extension cord.

Summary: Electric cordless Lawnmowers are a nuisance
This product performs as per the manufacturers specs. This is my first lawn mower and am unhappy with the product. I feel it takes too much effort to manage the electric wire while mowing. Definitely, the cordless brother of this unit (nearly $150 more) or a gas powered, elect start even, is a better choice. Used it for less than a month and already looking to swap this.

Summary: Good product
Since I'm a man I've been tasked with 2 things in my life, tossing the garbage and mowing the lawn. After 20 years of pushing extremely heavy, smoky, and terribly unreliable gasoline mowers I finally went out and bought the Lawn Hog. I was surprised, no amazed! The unit is incredibly light and can be pushed around with one hand. It munches through grass with abandon, and it mulches so well that I don't even use the bag. One complaint I've noticed some owners mention is the electric "smell". It seems to do that only for the first hour or so then it goes away, presumably after the electric motor breaks in a bit. One IMPORTANT caveat is to get a high quality 14 GAUGE CORD that can handle 15 amps. Using 16 gauge or smaller extension cords can reduce cutting performance since the motor just can't get the "juice" necessary. I've even seen some claims that a small cord can even overheat the motor and damage it.
I normally am just plain tired after mowing the lawn, but this mower makes it so much easier that I hardly break a sweat. Its also easy on the ears and you won't anger your neighbors if you mow on a sunday morning. I haven't had it long enough to determine long-term reliability, but so far so good.

Summary: A good buy, so far...
I'm writing this review after completing the first full mow of my yard with this machine.
I previously used a model MM575, and was happy with that. But the 575 was getting old, had been repaired several times, and finally suffered a breakdown that would have required replacing the motor (at half the cost of a new mower). So, I figured it was time to upgrade.
The 875 has all the features I like about the 575: it's very light (I don't miss the self-propell feature on my old gas mowers), quiet, does the job, and doesn't leave me smelling of gasoline fumes. I assume it will also be easy to repair (I have a DeWalt parts distributer only a few minutes away). It also does a reasonable job of mulching (although not as good as my old Toro gas mowers).
The 875 seems more powerful, more quiet, and smoother running. My stepson claims it feels sturdier. The handle bars have an adjustment to accomodate tall people, although I wish it adjusted even further (we're all over 6 ft in this family). Setting the cutting height is incredibly easy, but I needed to read the manual to figure out how to do it :-)
One piece of electric-mower advice: invest in a heavy-gauge cord. Swapping up to a 12ga extension cord solved all my 575 problems with bogging down the mower and blowing circuit breakers.
I think you'll like this mower!

Summary: Messy, But Does a Good Job
After I spent a small fortune having my yard relandscaped, my landscaper told me the lawn mower I had would not work with my new lawn. The retail stores had a limited selection of electric lawn mowers, which is what I really wanted, so I ordered this one from Amazon. I was a bit apprehensive about having to put it together, but it was very easy to set up, I just had to straighten out the handle and tighten the screws. The grass catcher, however, was a little difficult to put together. The grass catcher is big and it is difficult to empty the grass into the paper lawn waste bags we have to use. I often had to juggle the grass catcher and bag, spilling some of the grass which left grass stains on my clothes. While the grass catcher is big, it doesn't hold that much grass and if you have a big yard you have to stop often to empty the grass out. My yard isn't all that big and it took me almost three hours to mow the front, back, and side lawns. The weight of the lawn mower is 50 pounds and it might be hard for some to move around. The height adjustment was up higher than on most lawn mowers, which makes it easier to change the height. The lawn mower does a nice, even job of cutting the grass.
Despite the problems with the grass catcher, the lawn mower was easy to use and I recommend it.
